Air Source Heat Pump Installation
Rpk Plumbing and Heating specialises in air source heat pump systems tailored to new builds, one-off homes and retrofit projects across Telford and surrounding areas. From heat-loss calculations and system design to installation, commissioning and handover, the service focuses on efficient heating and reliable hot water. Expect careful siting, low-temperature system optimisation and seamless integration with underfloor heating or upgraded radiators. All work is overseen by the owner with 28 years’ hands-on heating experience.

— Our Process
How It Works
Site survey & system design
On-site heat-loss assessment, acoustic siting and system selection — cylinder, buffer and flow temperatures sized to your build or retrofit. We coordinate with builders on new builds and advise radiator or underfloor upgrades for low-temperature operation.
Supply & installation
Delivery and positioning of the outdoor unit, internal cylinder and controls with neat pipe runs and insulation. Electrical supply, isolator installation and integration with existing heating circuits are handled on-site, minimising disruption.
Commissioning & handover
Full commissioning, performance checks and system balancing followed by a thorough handover including controls walkthrough and maintenance advice. Continued aftercare and servicing options available from the owner/operator.

Why Choose Air Source Heat Pump Installation?
Owner-operated expertise
28 years in heating gives a hands-on approach — the owner oversees design and installation, providing a single technical point of contact throughout the project.
Bespoke designs for new builds & one-offs
We design systems to your property: heat-loss led sizing, coordination with builders, and tailored solutions for bespoke homes and complex layouts.
Practical retrofit and oil-to-heat-pump experience
Extensive work on off-gas properties and oil boiler systems means confident conversions from oil to heat pump and compatibility with common manufacturers such as Worcester, Grant and Warmflow.
What we install — air source heat pump systems optimised for heating and domestic hot water in new builds, one-off homes and retrofit projects. Installations include the external air-source unit, internal hot water cylinder or buffer vessel, controls and any radiator or underfloor heating modifications needed for efficient low-temperature operation. Design always starts with a measured heat-loss calculation so the system matches the building fabric and occupancy pattern.
How we approach retrofit and new build work — on new builds we coordinate with plasterers, flooring and electrical contractors to ensure pipework and controls are integrated neatly. For retrofit properties we assess existing radiators and, where necessary, recommend higher-capacity radiators or underfloor heating to achieve comfort at lower flow temperatures. Acoustic siting, frost protection and condensate drainage are addressed on every job, and commissioning includes flow-temperature checks, controls setup and a full handover so you understand settings and seasonal behaviour.
— FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Air source heat pumps work very well in well-insulated homes, new builds and many existing properties after minor upgrades. Suitability depends on fabric performance, hot water demand and available outdoor siting; a site survey and heat-loss calculation will establish the right system size and whether radiator upgrades or underfloor heating are advisable.
